Barbie & I Love To Be Online

Hi friends, are you addicted to the Internet? Well I must confess I am ,so is my Barbie!;) Now the question is who will decide how much is too much?
Barbie loves to be on line 24/7,she has so much to do.These days ,we all love to be on line as much as we can,we just can't think of living without Internet any more.My life will stop functioning if Internet is no more, even the thought seems so SCARYYYY to me!!!!!!!!!!
OMG Barbie's Internet addiction is on the rise................
Internet allows millions of computer users around the world to stay in touch,to exchange information with each other which would have never been possible otherwise.I just can't think of a single day passing by when I don't come on line.Who knows it better than ALL YOU bloggers around the globe? I came across so many lovely people on line, because of various negative experiences some people say "Internet does more harm than good",but to me it always did more good than harm! Otherwise how would I have met all you amazing doll lovers around the world ? :D Some 4 years ago I was getting into severe depression, life seemed so ugly that I lost my urge to live.......Internet saved me !!! Being on line did wonder for me,today I am still alive because of the Internet! :):):):)
Internet has brought communication to a whole new level,we no longer need to wait forever for a oversees mail or spend a lot of money over the international phone calls as we have the facility of sending an email or chatting with our loved ones on instant messenger.I just can't imagine my existence without Internet any more. What about YOU ?

I would love to know your opinion on the matter. And how much time do you usually stay on line on a daily basis? And what are the activities that YOU most enjoy, on line?

Here are the few things that I mostly do on line;
sending emails
chatting with my friends
blogging
editing my pics and uploading them on the web(this one I enjoy the most)
using search engines for any info that I am looking for
playing games
face booking...twitting....reading..I can go on & on!!:):):)

That's all for now!;)

Love
Pam

  1. When I was in London for 2 weeks, the flats we were staying in didn't have internet, so we'd all walk down to McDonald's late at night just so that we could at least briefly update our families on everything. It made me realize how dependent I am on the internet, especially on search engines. When I want to look something up, I can do it immediately. We ended up running to our teachers' flat just to ask a simple question when we couldn't Google it.
What I really like though is being to connect with people I wouldn't normally get to talk to, like on here. I don't know many people with my interests in real life, but online there are more people to talk to about the things I like. In a way, it makes me feel less alone.
Sorry for the kind of long response, but your question really got me thinking. :)

I totally agree with you about the importance of the search engines,we just can't survive without them any more.My reasons are pretty similar to yours,I love to be on line just because I don't find many people with the same interests off line!:)

  2. I am so addicted. But I could have worse addictions. I've met the most wonderful people on line. The doll people really feel like family to me. So funny how close you get to people and you have no idea what they look like. LOL! I'm glad the internet was able to help you through some tough times. It continues to help me, as well. Recently, I've made incredible 'friends' across the globe. I feel I can get on a plane, show up on their doorstep, and they would be happy to see me. Only with the internet is that possible.

  5. So glad to know Internet saved you from depression Pam. I have to confess that here as you I also had made friends and connections - When you grown up and have the ability to have some free time in your hands to hung out with friends reduced, the Internet bring us all together to make sure that long time, specially in distance, friend/family is OK and that you can say hi no matter what time, showing them you care about them.
List a number of things I do online? Girl, we are at the same boat, I can go on and on...
Nice to know a little bit more about you, friend :-)
    Keep in touch!

I am glad to know that we are on the same boat as far as internet is concerned, after all like minded people always have better bonding!:D

It's because of the internet only all of us are interacting with each other regardless of our age, religion or time zone!

  6. To me Internet is like alcohol in some sense. It accentuates what you would do anyway. If you want to be a loner, you can be more alone. If you want to connect, it makes it easier to connect. I am lucky to have met the most cherished person of my life through Internet. Without it we still have been strangers.

Online has become a parallel way of living today. We all are living two lives- Online and offline. And I think its fun in both mode. Depends on how we make it interesting in both forms. Let's make it worth living ..... both in online and offline mode:)

  7. It amuses me that science fiction writers in the 1950s thought computers would help us build and operate more powerful weapons (like the pocket nuclear devices in Asimov's _Foundation_ series). Instead computers have created phenomenal communications technologies. Two years ago I didn't know there were other adults like me who loved to collect (and play with) fashion dolls. The internet has helped me find a whole community of warm, creative people. Participating in that community has been a very healing experience for me.

Thanks for raising another interesting issue.

I was totally unaware about the existence of an adult doll lovers/collectors/bloggers till I joined FLICKR,but I have to confess one thing that people are friendlier on blogger than FLICKR.I feel calm when I interact with this amazing DOLL COMMUNITY around the globe here!:)

  8. Hello from Spain: I love the floor and the wall of this room. You create this elegant space. I really like magazines and computer. I have some things the same as yours. I hate internet although I admit that thanks to the computer I can know other people who share my same hobby. I have to work with computers in my daily life so I associate the computer with hard work. Your photos are always gorgeous. I use internet only for the blog. I have no Facebook or other profiles. 9. I could survive without the internet but I must admit my life is much richer because of it. It is lovely to connect with others who have the same interests and share with each other. It's also a useful resource for information and ideas. I'm glad to hear it helped you when life was hard - depression can be a very hard burden to live with.

  11. Great photoshoot and her little magazines are too cool!

I didn't begin to use the internet until late 2002 and I found it fascinating and perplexing. Still do actually. I'm not as active on it as when I first started because it was shiny and new to me so I was in forums and chats and would instant message. I don't do any of that anymore. I'm probably still on line just as much as I was in the beginning, but I'm not all over the place like I was.
